F.Y.I. Featuring Tempo Tantrum – Part One

When we first heard Tempo Tantrum perform we were very impressed (listen to a teaser of his music HERE). He delivered an original and creative live set that seamlessly fused the crowd with genre-defying gravity. It was obvious to us this performer has an intense passion which feeds his prolific musical appetite. He quickly earned our respect and that of the whole crowd, and we were immediately drawn to support this Artist. We caught up with Tempo Tantrum for Part One of On&On’s next installment of Free Your Inhibitions…

Tempo Tantrum On&OnWhere were you born?
Colorado.

At what point in your career as an Artists, did you realize that you were “All In”.
I don’t do gray. I’ve always lived my life from a place of turbo.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?
Curtis Mayfield, Jimi Hendrix, Necro, Anticon, Nirvana.

If you could open for one of those artists and remix their music, who would you choose?
Curtis because I love the drums from that era.

What is your ideal set length, and what’s the longest set you’ve played?
66 minutes 6 SEXonds.

What’s the best sound system you’ve ever heard?
I watched the entire Lord Of The Rings series at George Lucas’ private studio up north. That shit was fucking dumb good.

Where’s the best sound system you’ve ever played on?
The Independent

Tempo Tantrum & Atish

Imagine you’re performing in a warm open-air venue, it’s 3AM, there’s an amazing sound system, and the crowd consists of 1,500 of your biggest fans. How would you describe your musical style in this moment?
Like a brown person messed around and made some music from the forest for yall to fuck to.

What’s the most memorable set you’ve heard in the last few months?
This weird little skinny black chick in New York was playing this crazy killer funk set while we were out there playin the CMJ’s.

If you could go to space and return, how long would you stay for, who would you bring, and where would you go?
I’d go for 23 million years. I’d just drive with no direction. I’d bring this bad ass woman I’m kickin it with right now.

On some real shit… I think it’s a cover for a terrorist organization. But it throws killer parties so it’s all good…
